Devon Norse are a successful commercial service partnership between Norse Group and Devon County Council, delivering expertise across cleaning, catering and facilities management disciplines.

Our Catering team support a number of schools and businesses across the region, and we are currently looking to recruit a Kitchen Manager to operate across the South Hams area, covering sites in and around Salcombe and Kingsbridge.

Your role will be providing support and cover to a number of site kitchens, managing and organising the delivery of our catering service by driving preparation, cooking and serving. It is crucial to maintain our customer service levels, and your role will be key in managing the expected time and quality standards within the kitchen. 

You will get the chance to be hands-on and support the preparation of meals, as well as ensuring that stock and equipment is replenished and maintained. Building good relationships with our staff and clients will ensure you have a platform to deliver the service whilst being able to offer development to individuals.

This position is a casual contract to support as and when required across our sites, and therefore hours and days can be flexible to suit you. You will generally work between 09:30 AM – 14:00 PM Monday – Friday, however there will be some variation here.

Our Successful Candidate:

We are looking for you to show your passion for cooking through kitchen experience and relevant qualifications, including; 

  • Experience managing and leading a catering service in a busy environment 
  • Knowledge of menu costing, manual handling and health and safety guidelines in a kitchen
  • Intermediate Qualification in Food Hygiene, or equivalent training and/or certification
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of building good relationships with colleagues and clients 
  • Able to manage the workload of a team in a deadline driven environment

As this is a mobile position, you will need to hold a Full UK Driving Licence
