Cook Manager - Hethersett Woodside Primary & Nursery School



Norse Catering are service partners to a growing portfolio of schools across the Norfolk and Suffolk region, delivering an average of 25,000 meals per day. Our service is based around using locally sourced and fresh produce to deliver healthy and nutritious meals.

We provide a full catering service for the after school club at Hethersett Woodside Primary & Nursery School, and are currently looking for a Cook Manager to lead this service. 

You will have responsibility for the on-site kitchen team, playing an active role in; 

  • Food preparation, cooking, service and kitchen maintenance
  • Maintaining stock levels and equipment
  • Working with area managers to produce healthy and nutritious menus 
  • Maintaining customer service and quality levels on-site 
  • Build a good relationship between the catering team and the client

This position is a part time, permanent position working 10 hours per week, 15:30 PM - 17:30 PM, Monday - Friday 

Your Experience:

All of our catering staff will be provided ongoing support and training; however, you will need to be able to highlight previous experience and skills for the role, in particular;

  • Hands-on cooking experience in a commercial catering environment, ideally within a school or care sector (although this is not essential)
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirement in a kitchen environment, including manual handling, food hygiene and manual handling
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual and within a team
  • Capable of managing the day-to-day activities of catering staff
  • Strong communicator, confident dealing with colleagues and our client
  • Excellent customer service skills

All salaries for part-time positions are worked out pro-rata of the full-time equivalent salary shown in the advert, calculated on your contracted hours per week.
