One of Norse Group's core services in catering, delivering to a range of schools, care homes and business across the Norfolk and Suffolk region. On average, we deliver 25,000 meals to Norfolk and Suffolk schools on a daily basis. We are continuing to grow and develop new client partners, with our service built around local, sustainable and healthy produce.

Due to the expansion of our clients we want you to apply for a position as a Catering Assistant at Elton Primary School in Elton, Cambridgeshire. You will have a varied and challenging role within a busy kitchen preparing, cooking and serving delicious and nutritious meals to the pupils and staff of the school. You will also be responsible for:

  • Managing certain aspect of food preparation
  • Use and care of equipment, including daily and weekly cleaning
  • Handling of cash during break and lunch services if applicable
  • Cleaning of kitchen premises
  • Preparation and cleaning of the Dining Room
  • Complying with Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and QA procedures

You will also get the opportunity to have your say on aspects of the menu alongside the Cook Manager, Area Manager and the Client.

We want you to bring your experience and knowledge from a commercial catering background to the position or show us the passion you have for catering from the meals you cook at home for your family. We would also ideally see examples of your:

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety protocols
  • Dedication to healthy and local produce
  • High standards in customer care and service
  • Fantastic communication skills
