£8.79 per hour

Norse Group support a growing number of care homes across the region in delivering a full catering service for their residents. Our service is centred on using locally sourced produce to prepare healthy meals throughout the day.

We want you to join our team as a Cook in Charge at St Edmunds Care Home in Attleborough, Norfolk (NR17). This role will give you the responsibility of ensuring the service provided is of the highest quality, and you will manage all aspects including:

  • Leading your onsite team to maintain our fantastic customer service levels
  • Preparation and cooking of meals on a daily basis
  • Provison of on site training and support for junior members of your team
  • Compliance with all relevant health & safety guidelines 
  • Ordering of food and cleaning stock

The Role:

This is a permanent position with varied hours as below, based on a 2 week rota:

Week 1

  • Monday & Thursday, 07:30 AM - 14:30 PM
  • Tuesday & Wednesday, 07:30 AM - 14:30 PM & 15:00 PM - 18:00 PM 

Week 2

  • Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday, 07:30 AM - 14:30 PM & 15:00 PM - 18:00 PM 
  • Thursday & Friday, 07:30 AM - 14:30 PM

Your Experience:

UIdeally, you will need to be able to demonstrate experience working in a catering environment, with kitchen management knowledge. We want you to show us your passion for customer service and healthy food, and bring that to this position. This will be demonstrated by:

  • Experience in meal and menu planning 
  • Ability to manage an on-site catering team 
  • Knowledge of relevant health & safety guidelines, with any formal training an advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
