Catering Assistant

Norwich, Norfolk

£8.60 per hour

Norse Catering are service partners to a growing portfolio of care homes, schools and private businesses across the Norfolk and Suffolk region, delivering an average of 25,000 meals per day. Our service is based around using locally sourced and fresh produce to deliver healthy and nutritious meals.

We have a new opportunity for you to join our award winning team as our range of services to the community continues to grow. This position is at Mountfield Care Home in Norwich, Norfolk and we would like you to apply.

You will report to the onsite Cook Manager, where you will be responsible for ensuring the continued high standard of our meals and services. We pride ourselves on the nourishment and quality of our meals. You will also be responsible for:

  • Purchasing of required catering and cleaning products
  • Maintaining the highest levels of hygiene and cleanliness
  • Reporting any safety concerns in the kitchen

You will also have the opportunity to have your say on the menu preparations and creation in conjunction with the Cook Manager.

Our Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for you to join us with your enthusiasm, knowledge and experience in catering. Ideally this would be in a professional capacity through experience and qualifications, but we are also looking for exceptional home cooks to join us as well. We are also looking to see example of your:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, with any relevant qualifications being a bonus
  • Good customer service skills and the ability to work within an agreed service environment
  • Experience of managing or supervising staff

This is on a part-time, permanent basis where you will be required to work average 35hpw. 

Week 1 - Friday, Saturday & Sunday - 7:30 -2:30 & 3:30 - 7:00 

Week 2-  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday - 7:30 - 2:30 & 3:30 - 7:00
