Description

Medway Norse combines the exceptional facilities management capabilities of the Norse Group with Medway Council’s services, community and people. As one of our biggest partnerships, Medway Norse delivers a complete range of services including ground, facilities management and security services.

To support our ongoing work in Medway parks and countryside areas, we are looking to recruit an Urban Park Ranger. As well as being the first point of contact for customers, contractors and partnership officers across the sites, you will:

  • Ensure the grounds are maintained to standard
  • Assist with day-to-day running of the parks, play areas and allotments
  • Monitor health, safety and cleanliness issues
  • Help organise and deliver events

This is a full time position, working 37 hours per week on a variable shift pattern. There will be a need to work across some weekends and bank holidays on a pre-defined rota.

Our Successful Candidate:

Whilst we are dedicated to delivering on-going training for all of our Urban Park Rangers, we are looking for you to bring a combination of knowledge and experience to the role, demonstrated by:

  • Experience in a previous land based, environmental or countryside role
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, in regards to environmental and health & safety
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable engaging with members of the public
  • An understanding of a range of countryside matters, biodiversity and habitat management
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment, managing your own workload effectively
