Norse Group is built on a foundation of joint ventures with Local Government and commercial partners, delivering property consultancy, commercial services and facilities management expertise across the UK. Our front line services and enabled and supported by a range of back office professionals, providing expertise across a number of functions including HR and Payroll.

To ensure we continue to provide a high level of business support to the Group, we are looking to recruit a Lead Payroll Advisor to join our Norwich based team. This is an excellent development opportunity, with on-going training in a commercial environment, access to an industry recognised Foundation Degree in Payroll Management, and continued support to help you reach Payroll Manager level.

This will give you the opportunity to join an industry leading team, where you will help provide a comprehensive and professional payroll service to the Group. Alongside a number of responsibilities, you will be:

  • Maintaining and updating payroll records to ensure accurate data is available for payment calculations
  • Assisting the business with TUPE transfers into the Group
  • Supporting the Payroll Manager’s in delivering payroll functions across the business
  • Collating periodical and ad-hoc information for reporting

Our Ideal Candidate

Whilst we are looking for you to demonstrate some commercial experience in a payroll environment, we would be keen to offer ongoing support and progression opportunities to develop your career. You will be given the chance to undertake a Foundation Degree in Payroll Management, as well as support to reach Payroll Manager level.

We are looking for you to demonstrate a combination of industry knowledge and experience, with a drive for continuous personal development. Your experience will be highlighted by:

  • Foundation Degree or similar in a related discipline, or equivalent commercial experience
  • Experience working in a large, diverse and complex payroll environment
  • Knowledge of payroll systems, preferably iTrent
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Tools, in particular Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, the confidence to liaise with all levels within the business
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team
  • Capable of working in a deadline driven environment, prioritising your own workload effectively
