Norse Group is one of the UK’s most dynamic and fast-growing companies, combining property consultancy expert NPS Group and facilities management specialists Norse Commercial Services. Our offices in the South West support a number of our local joint ventures with back-office infrastructure, including finance services for our Newport partnership with the City Council.

Our finance team offer business critical support across the group, and we are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant into our team based in Exeter, Devon. In this role, you will work closely alongside the Finance Business Partner, providing local support and guidance across a range of commercial accounting duties including production of monthly management accounts for the Newport partnership.

As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will learn to provide support across a number of accounting duties, including; budget preparation, year-end accounting and audit completion. This is an opportunity for you to work in a commercially focused finance team, with the support of a central finance function. We will give you the chance to grow and develop your knowledge with access to recognised industry training and first-hand experience in a commercial environment.

Your Experience:

We are dedicated to providing our finance team with full and on-going training, and this role is focussed on developing someone with some experience within a commercial finance or accounting role, demostrated by:

  • Experience working within a previous finance or accounting environment
  • Ideally, you will have knowledge of helping to prepare management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
  • It would be an advantage if you are currently working towards - or have the desire to work towards - AAT Level 3
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, in particular Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines
  • Capable of working autonomously, as an individual and as part of a multi-disciplined team
