Description

NPS Humber Limited is a joint venture between Norse Group and Hull City Council.  We provide a wide range of services including: architecture, building and quantity surveying, mechanical, electrical and structural engineering, landscape architecture, compliance, property maintenance, asset management and land surveying, estate management, property agency, rating and valuation and consultancy services.

NPS Humber have an excellent opportunity to join the team as an Estates Surveyor. As Estates Surveyor you provide effective, day to day, property advice to our Client, Hull City Council.

You will be required:

  • To undertake professional Landlord and Tenant work including lease renewals, rent reviews, new lettings, tenant management including assisting in retail and industrial units management
  • To dispose of surplus properties and to acquire properties including by open market transactions, negotiation and under compulsory purchase legislation
  • To provide a valuation service
  • To assist in undertaking all asset management functions including contributing to clients strategic asset management planning, and portfolio reviews
  • To undertake surveys including condition, dilapidations providing schedules and reports
  • Assisting the team to succeed in gaining new clients and retaining existing clients in public and private sectors
  • To ensure appropriate and timely communication is provided to all stakeholders including clients, statutory undertakers, contractors, and any other deemed necessary.
  • To assist the associate director in implementing all property initiatives including software systems, performance management, project management and time recording systems
  • To ensure work is undertaken in compliance with quality management system
  • To undertake any other activity commensurate with property services scope of work

You will have:

  • Full membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or working towards becoming chartered
  • A degree or equivalent in a property related subject
  • Experience of undertaking landlord and tenant work preferably in both public and private sectors, including rent reviews/lease renewals
  • Experience of property sales, acquisitions, property inspections and preparation of schedules
  • Registered Valuer with the RICS or ability/willingness to register
  • Experience of property surveys
  • Organised, able to deliver to short timescales a wide range of estates services to clients
  • Able to prioritise work and manage output
  • Able to deliver to contractual requirements
  • Able to present and contribute to business cases and to build positive relationships with team and clients
  • Some knowledge of Asset management and development appraisals
  • A knowledge of Health and safety regulations and requirements
  • Numerate and capable of writing reports
  • IT literate, proficient use of word, excel, outlook
  • Due to the travel requirements of the role, a full UK driving licence, with use of own vehicle is essential.
