NPS Property Consultants works in partnership with Norfolk County Council, supplying expertise across property maintenance and consultancy services. The business supports a growing number of public and private sector clients across East Anglia.

As NPS Property Consultants continues to take on new pieces of work, there is a need to recruit a Building Services Engineer into our team based in Ipswich. This is a varied position, requiring you to undertake a range of duties across planned work programmes, service contract management and controlling maintenance expenditure.

As a Building Services Engineer, you will have a varied role that exposes you to a multitude of different responsibilities and projects. Alongside carrying out design and management of all types of building services (M&E) projects and property inspections, you will be undertaking surveys, providing asset condition reports and drafting day work orders among a number of wider duties.

IMPORTANT - Whilst you might have a varying degree of experience within a design and/or surveying environment in the past, we will give you the opportunity to develop you skills with the support of the team and industry training where relevant. If you currently hold and professional or chartered membership within a relevant institution that will be an advantage, however we would be keen to help you achieve such a status if you are working towards it. Furthermore, whilst we are ideally looking for a candidate with M&E design experience, we will consider applications from mechanical or electrical design engineers for this post.

Our successful candidate will have

  • Experience in a building services engineering role, ideally within design and surveying environments
  • Already attained, working towards or the desire to work towards any relevant industry membership, including; the Chartered Institution of Building Service Engineers (CIBSE), the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) or Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE)
  • Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Design for Buildings
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with a manage internal and external stakeholders
  • Capable of preparing and managing engineering maintenance across various types of buildings
