NPS Property Consultants Limited is the main vehicle for delivering property maintenance and consultancy services to the sole shareholder Norfolk County Council, as well as other public and private sector customers in the East of England.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Chartered Building Services Engineer to join our team at either our Ipswich or Norwich office. We are keen to assist our employee’s development, as such, we would consider applicants not yet chartered, looking to take the next steps in their career.

The Role

As a Chartered Building Services Engineer, you will hold responsibility for completing planned work programmes to schedule, ensuring the achievement of pre-set targets of the day-to-day maintenance expenditure. You will manage service contracts to an acceptable level in accordance with contract documentation.

You will have a varied role, carrying out property inspections. Drafting day work orders, preparing estimates, specifications, supervising contractors and approving accounts. As well as, consulting with relevant parties to identify needs and implementation of repair and improvement projects. This role includes frequent travel to other offices and sites as required.

Our successful candidate will have

  • Professional Chartered membership of the chartered institute of Building Service Engineers or working towards.
  • Current Site card or prepared to attain immediately.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in a similar role.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD (essential)
  • Knowledge of Revit (desirable)
  • Experience of preparation and management of the engineering maintenance of various types of buildings.
  • An understanding of relevant construction, health and safety legislation and risks and hazards associated with asbestos.
