Description

Norse Catering are currently looking for a Chef, to be based at White Lion Café in Norwich. As Chef you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals, and support pupils with their work experience.

The White Lion Café, Norwich, is an off-site learning provision for Parkside pupils, all of which have complex needs. The Café is there to provide meaningful work experience for our senior pupils, where they learn valuable life and independence skills to prepare them for adulthood.

This is a term time, temporary position up to Summer 2019. Working hours will be Monday - Friday 08:00 - 16:00, 37.5 hours per week. 

 

Duties:

  • Assist in the preparation, cooking and presentation of food to the highest standard.
  • Making sure that recipes are followed properly during food preparation and cooking time.
  • Contribute to high levels of customer service.
  • Comply and have full knowledge of regulations regarding Health and Safety, ensuring that best food practices and hygiene procures and hygiene procedures are adhered to.
  • Making sure that all food supplies are stored properly and used resourcefully.
  • Make sure the kitchen is clean and organised at all times.

You will have:

  • Previous catering experience
  • Knowledge of basic health & safety, including the food safety act.
  • Basic culinary skills
  • Knowledgeable about the food industry
