Newport Norse is a highly successful facilities management and contract services provider. The company provides a range of property management and facilities management service to Newport City Council.

Due to their ongoing successful development, Newport Norse are looking to recruit a Works Co-ordinator (Building) to be responsible for the successful delivery of all reactive building maintenance work delivered by the building team.

Reporting into the Head of Reactive Maintenance, the focus of your role will be to assist with managing the reactive maintenance service delivered by an in-house work force and sub-contractors on a day-to-day basis with regard to the property portfolio of Newport City Council and private sector clients.

You will have demonstrable experience in building surveying relating to repairs, maintenance and refurbishment of commercial properties. You will also have experience of managing an in-house, building maintenance trade team and external subcontractors.

Our successful candidate will:

  • Have completed a relevant trade apprenticeship or a recognised Government Training Trade Scheme with post training experience, up to a supervisory level and have HNC or NVQ level 4 or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject.
  • Hold a current CITB CSCS card or prepared to obtain one.
  • Be a member of CIOB or equivalent institution or working towards corporate membership.
  • Have experience of procuring and managing subcontractors.
  • Hold a Full UK Driving Licence, due to the travel requirements of the role.
