As a result of strong ongoing business, HBS are looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer to their Haywards Heath based team.  We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, efficient and motivated individual, reporting to the Building Services Director. You will be responsible for the delivery and design of mechanical installation services in a variety of new and existing buildings – from simple low value schemes up to high value complex projects.

Candidates should have relevant qualifications and experience in the design of mechanical installation services for building related schemes and be able to produce cost effective innovative design solutions.

To match the existing teams desire to constantly improve, you will ideally be looking to train and progress you career towards Principal or Associate Engineer level within the next few years – something which will be heavily encouraged and supported in the role.

This role is based out of our Haywards Heath office in West Sussex, but will require travel to other offices and sites in line with the demands of the role


Your will ideally have the following qualification and experience:

  • Professional Membership to the Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers, and a desire to achieve Chartered status
  • Commercial experience in a similar Mechanical Engineering role, being able to demonstrate examples of managing relevant alteration or refurbishment projects from inception through to delivery
  • Familiarity of Standard Forms of Building Service’s Contracts, with experience surveying a variety of building types
  • A desire to progress in your Engineering career, and evidence of personal growth and development in previous positions
  • Experience working across our range of new build, re-modelling and refurbishment programmes, you will contribute to the design, specification and management of mechanical service installations.
