We are now looking for a Commercial Product Marketing expert to join our growing Product team. This is an exceedingly exciting time to join a market leading, award-winning human capital management (HCM) and e-learning “software as a service” (SaaS) provider company with a proven track record and significant growth plans. We see this role as bridging the gap between our technical and commercial teams.

Job Role: Commercial Product Manager

  • Reporting to the Head of Product this is a great opportunity to make a real difference in a fast growing and ambitious company.
  • The Commercial Product Manager will be accountable for developing a vision and roadmap for our Talent Management suite of products based on input from market research, internal stakeholders, customers, and their own industry insight.
  • Responsible for product planning, delivery and marketing throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Driving go-to-market activities, competitive intelligence, messaging and positioning of our products.
  • Identify the key benefits and value of products. This will be used to create and maintain marketing plans and collateral (including web updates, product training materials and sales training).
  • Develop a forecast for the product based on input from marketing, sales, market analysts and their own experience and manage its delivery.
  • Working closely with Product owners, development/engineering and other teams to deliver products that align with this vision, meet market needs and are delivered to a consistently high-quality standard.

 Responsibilities

  • Define the strategy and roadmap for our Talent Management product range
  • Craft and maintain product positioning and messaging for the products
  • Develop and maintain the product positioning and go to market strategy for our products
  • Support for engagement with market analysts
  • Evangelize our products internally and externally
  • Carry out market research and maintain market data
  • Consolidate, develop and maintain competitive analysis
  • Work with the sales team to review and revise pricing
  • Monitor, report and improve product performance
  • Collect, manage/maintain traceability of requirements from all stakeholders across product releases and measure success
  • Write the business case for investments and gain internal approval
  • Propose a product marketing plan and then deliver against it
  • Work with internal stakeholders and third parties to assess and establish partnerships that enhance our proposition portfolio
  • Be the recognised expert in the business on the product, the market, relevant technology and the competition.
  • Lead the virtual commercial product team to ensure delivery of agreed objectives
  • Develop and deliver go-to-market launch plans
  • Building tools, collateral and training programmes to enable our Sales team (and other teams) to effectively communicate our value proposition
  • Work closely with Marketing on product communications/PR/social media
  • Manage projects to deliver to plan
  • Collate feedback from sales and customers
  • Be recognised as a leader in the business and build relations with business stakeholders
  • Deliver a regular (e.g. monthly) volume, revenue and profit forecasts

To be successful in the role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Product Management and Marketing experience, ideally 3 years’ experience in a Product Management or Marketing role.
  • Solid understanding of Product Management and how product marketing fits into it.
  • Excellent written and communication skills, with the ability to convert complex concepts into clear, engaging messages for internal and external audiences
  • Experience working with B2B SaaS software companies and you are familiar with the dynamics and customer journey in enterprise B2B SaaS companies.
  • Technically fluent, comfortable dealing with technical information and able to translate these capabilities into customer benefits.
  • Self-starter who knows how to “get things done” and have proven ability to do so.
  • Sharp analytical thinker with proven problem-solving skills.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop a product vision.
  • Industry knowledge of Human Capital Management (HCM), Talent Management or Learning Technology market would be an advantage.
  • Degree Educated ideally
