The successful applicant will have high expectations of pupils and be expected to ensure, through effective Teaching and Learning, that all pupils are inspired to achieve outstanding progress.  This role is suitable for either experienced professionals who wish to progress their career or for NQTs who want to begin their career in a learning rich environment.

About You

We are looking for someone who will:

  • engage and enthuse our learners through a commitment to outstanding teaching and learning
  • contribute to the further development of a strong and forward-looking team
  • be innovative in their techniques to motivate and inspire young people
  • build positive relationships with staff, pupils and parents alike.

About us:

The Nottingham Girls’ Academy, part of the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT), based on the outskirts of Nottingham, provides 11-19 education for over 800 pupils. The Academy, led by the Principal, David Tungate, has a clear vision for the future. Through high standards in teaching and pastoral care, they are determined that pupils are able to achieve great results and leave as confident, compassionate and articulate young women, with the skills to support them through the rest of their lives.

Research has shown that a single sex environment empowers girls to realise their potential and through the dedicated and specialist care on offer, the Academy aims to support this through teaching focused solely upon the needs of girls.

The Trust:

The Academy is part of the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) which has a proven track record in school improvement. The Trust provides centralised services and support to enable staff to focus on teaching. Being part of the Trust means that we are able to share specialist best practice and work collaboratively with colleagues in other academies.

For NQTs looking to join the Trust you can be assured that we will invest in developing your practice to ensure you succeed. All NQTs are required to attend the NQT development programme where you will be taken through a range of core areas of professional development including induction and training days where all the NQTs from the Trust are brought together.  The school will also provide support in the form of a mentor and guaranteed NQT release time.

This training doesn’t stop at NQTs as the Learning Alliance also offers programmes for Teachers looking to develop techniques and strategies to improve classroom practice.
