Description

We are seeking to offer the opportunity for a passionate Learning Assistant to join the team at the City of Peterborough Academy. 

About Us:

Our academy was opened in September 2013 by the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) after a £13.8m capital build. A dedicated team of staff aim to help support every child in reaching their full potential. In addition to this we have been described as a truly ‘inclusive school’ at our recent National Inclusion Quality Mark inspection, not only have we been recognised as an Inclusive School but also been awarded 'Centre of Excellence Status'. 

In return, the academy, part of the Greenwood Academies Trust, look to support staff in their careers and offer first class CPD and opportunities for career progression. 

The role:

The ideal Learning Assistant will reinforce the excellent work of the teaching staff by supporting individuals or small groups both within and outside of the classroom environment. You will be a professional role model to the pupils, with the confidence to challenge and the creativity to motivate. 

To be successful you must have:

  • excellent communication skills
  • the ability to provide support that is second to none
  • experience of working with young people or children (SEND experience would be advantageous)
  • first rate team working skills
  • a professional approach and high personal standards. 

This role is for 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday and is required in term time only (39 weeks); therefore this is reflected in the pro rata salary.
