Are you an inspirational Primary Teacher who is passionate about enhancing the provision for children and young people with special educational needs?

About the role and you

We wish to recruit someone, for Easter 2019 or sooner, who is committed to providing a welcoming, stimulating learning experience for all pupils, what we are really looking for is someone that is passionate about working with special needs pupils and someone who is willing to contribute to the broader academy life.

To be successful you will be a creative, enthusiastic individual dedicated to ensuring that pupils’ needs are met, providing them with a positive learning journey and helping them to achieve their aspirations. You will need to have experience of adapting lessons to make them accessible to all pupils but appropriately challenging.

About us

The Medeshamstede Academy opened in a new building in June 2013 to provide education for up to 100 4-18 year olds and has been making excellent progress since then. In September 2017, we were graded as ‘Good’ in our Ofsted inspection, stated that “Behaviour is good, and pupils have positive attitudes to learning and stay safe”.  We have high aspirations for the future and aim to be a centre of excellence for educating children with ASC.

In return

You will join a team of committed staff who are dedicated to ensuring pupils are prepared for the years beyond education and are supported to pursue their dreams.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Teacher who wishes to work in a unique environment. The role will expose you to challenging situations involving pupils with significant special needs; therefore experience of working with children with Autism would be advantageous.  The Trust also values continuing professional development and will ensure that you are given access to a variety of learning opportunities including training courses via the Learning Alliance and opportunities for sharing best practice.

If you would like to arrange a visit, please contact Samantha Newark, PA to the Principal on 01733 821 403 to arrange a suitable time.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks, therefore, all posts within the Trust are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

The Trust welcomes applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, age or sexual orientation.
