Overall Purpose of Job

 

This position reports into the Associate for Occupier Service Accounting, within Real Estate Management Accounts, with direct line management responsibility for 3 Corporate Accountants

 

The purpose of this job is to manage the service delivery of all Financial Reporting and management information as defined by our Occupier clients.  Ensuring that all services are delivered to a consistently high standard and to the service levels required by the client.

 

The role will support the Associate in ensuring the team are reviewing, implementing and following RICS and Accounting Regulations and best practice in all operations whilst also contributing to the REM business unit goals and departmental activities.   

 

 

Main Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities

·         To lead and support the team to ensure delivery of all reporting and services to the client to agreed deadlines.  To ensure that all reporting to Client is accurate, timely and robust.

·         Co-ordinating the inputs from all stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting. 

·         To attend scheduled or ad hoc finance meetings/calls with the client.

·         Liaising with the client to identify requirements whilst managing expectations. 

·         Liaising closely with other colleagues such as Surveyors and Directors in other departments and offices to achieve set goals.

·         Management and responsibility of the full month end processes.

·         Review all current monthly financial reporting, supporting schedules and information, assisting with preparation where necessary, and providing commentaries where required to add value.

·         Provide further monthly management reporting and information working to client requirements, standardising new reports, including, balance sheet commentary, and adhoc management accounting information.    

·         Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are undertaken ensuring accuracy and completeness of accounting records, including client statements, bank reconciliations, VAT report, Accruals, S/C Withholdings, Bad Debt provision, deferred income and prepayments. 

·         Deliver and delegate additional ad hoc reports as required by the client and AY Surveyors.

·         Develop a full understanding of Client procedures and process, providing continual review of processes, systems and controls, implementing procedures and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.  Ensure all processes and procedures within the team are documented and updated regularly.

·         Identifying and lead projects to benefit the team, wider department and clients

·         Deliver team meetings and 121s to coach and mentor the team and provide best practice advice.  Including appraisals and objective setting to identify development areas for members of the team.  Reporting on team activities, ensuring these are efficient and effective. 

·         Ensure data is maintained is such a way as to allow prompt responses to client requests for information. 

·         Ensure all KPI’s and delivery deadlines are met. 

·         Risk reporting and review.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Experience

·         Qualified or Part Qualified and studying towards CIMA, ACCA, ACA,QBE etc.

  • Personality to mix and work with a busy team in a finance department of 100 plus.
  • Ability to communicate and deliver a high-quality service under the pressure of high volumes and tight deadlines.
  • Mentor and manage effectively junior team members to enable them to reach their potential and career aspirations both in the office and when working from home

·         Ability to delegate duties, manage and prioritise tight & conflicting deadlines.

·         Flexibility and commitment to completing the task in hand. 

·         Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
