As the Market Manager you will ensure exemplary standards of service are delivered to the tenants/ client and visitors to the site at all times. Team building and staff morale will be a priority of the jobholder, coupled with fostering good relationships with both traders and WIMTA. The role and responsibilities will include;
This role will include a variety of tasks including the following:
· To lead the on-site team in the operational management and delivery of the relevant services including Cleaning, M&E, Security and Projects where applicable and appropriate
· To act as a Health & Safety ambassador and ensure a safe working environment for the building users. Operate a safe traffic system including the management of forklift operators, forklift safety maintenance in conjunction with the tenants, WIMTA and forklift training providers.
· To understand tenants requirements and needs and to foster a superior market environment whereby all parties benefit from a thriving and successful retail wholesale market.
· To act as an onsite manager during night time trading hours dealing with management issues as they arise with a degree of autonomy.
· Ensure safe and legal working practices and to deal with illicit trading in association with the on-site security team and WIMTA.
· Conduct continual trading hours floor walks and engender a working relationship with traders throughout the scheme.
· Provide effective management of operational rosters to minimise absence and to ensure that cover requirements are planned in advance utilising site based and relief resources for all relevant personnel
· Managing the on-site sub contracts ( cleaning/security) and the welfare of all site based staff and to adhere to HR policies covering all areas of managing employees .
· Lead, recruit, develop and retrain staff to deliver quality services in the most efficient and effective manner
· Supply the focal point for compliance and audit relationships liaising with external bodies.
· To ensure that records are held and updated as required; .
· Ensure compliance by sub-contractors and to monitor standards of performance.
· To continuously review and introduce best practice into the business
· Ensure that all communications are cascaded to team members in a timely manner as and when required.
· Attend on site meetings as required.
· Embrace a collaborative learning culture with your team and the wider business.
· Ensuring tenants adhere to the market rules and issuing penalty fines when necessary
· To take overall responsibility for banking cash from car parking fees and penalty fines and completing documentation
· Ensuring Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are undertaken when required
· Sharing information with tenants on vacant units and when required undertaking accompanied viewings
· Reviewing service charge expenditure and service charge budgets with the appointed surveyors.
· Obtaining quotes for site maintenance/works
